๐Ÿ“ˆ Annual Dividend Portfolio Review (2025-2026)

Happy New Year!

I sat down to review my dividend growth portfolio's performance for 2025, and the results show the power of consistency.

I started the year with a balance of $201k. By year-end, the account sat at $291k. That is a $90,000 jump in a single year.

Here is the breakdown of where the portfolio stands heading into 2026.

To be fully transparent: I didn't make $90k in pure profit. I contributed just under $50,000 of my own capital throughout the year.

The rest was the magic of capital appreciation and dividend reinvestment.

The Income Snowball

The most exciting metric isn't the total account value; itโ€™s the income the portfolio generates automatically.

  • 2025 Actual Income: My dividend income grew by 57%, crossing $7,000 for the year.

  • 2026 Projection: I am currently on track to earn over $12,000 in dividends this year without lifting a finger. That averages out to about $1,000 a month.

Current Strategy: The "Concentrated" Approach

I currently hold only seven positions. This is intentional. I prefer deep research into a few high-conviction companies rather than shallow knowledge of 50 different stocks.

My portfolio is currently split between high-yield income generators and high-growth pillars:

  • Top Income Holding: Hess Midstream (HESM)

  • Core Growth Pillars: Microsoft (MSFT) and Alphabet (GOOGL)

Recent Buys (Past Month)

I have been active recently, deploying capital into both growth and income. Here is what I bought:

  • Microsoft (MSFT): Added 3 shares (~$1,430 invested).

  • Hess Midstream (HESM): Added 20 shares (~$680 invested).

  • MPLX (MPLX): Added 3 shares (~$160 invested).

Wins & Lessons

  • Best Investment of 2025: Alphabet (GOOGL). It returned 95% last year. I bought heavily when the market feared the "AI risk" to Google Search, grabbing shares at a P/E of 16.

  • Biggest Mistake: A mistake of omission. Should have gone even heavier on Google. I knew everything I needed to know. Bonus: I researched Comfort Systems USA (FIX) when it was $328/share. I didn't pull the trigger, and it is now trading over $1,000. Trust the research.

My Goals for 2026

  1. Portfolio Value: Hit $350,000 in this account ($500k across all accounts).

  2. Income: Reach $14,000 in dividends earned.

Introducing: Dividend Data for Spreadsheets

This is a massive step forward for our platform. You can now access ALL of our data directly in your Google Sheets (Excel coming soon!).

Here is why this changes everything for your portfolio tracking:

โŒ The Problem: The "Manual Chaos". We all know the struggle. You want to analyze a stock, so you open five different browser tabsโ€”X for price, Y for dividends, & Z for financial statements. You copy, you paste, you fix formatting errors. Then, repeat for each stock. Itโ€™s slow, itโ€™s boring, and the second you close the sheet, the data is outdated.

โœ… The Solution: The "Dividend Data Way". We have built a direct bridge between our institutional-grade database and your personal spreadsheet. No more manual entry. No more web scraping.

๐Ÿš€ The Result: Automated Data. With simple custom functions, you can pull 30+ years of financial history, prices, dividend data, metrics, analyst price targets, and institutional KPIs directly into your cells.

You simply type: =DIVIDENDDATA("AAPL", "history")

And the data flows in automatically.
